Round about 500 guests recently got together before last in the new top restaurant of Hamburg’s HafenCity – the CLAAS. Its owner is nobody less than Claas-Henrik Anklam, who with the CLAAS realizes his second ambience for culinary delights together with GEPLAN DESIGN. Our Hamburg-based team took part together with our Managing Director Cord Glantz.
The CLAAS is a statement. A 50 sqm Italian design show kitchen: Here, the Hamburg ritual of champagne and oysters applies. And at the same time, the guests have the best view onto Anklam’s culinary art. A transparent and shiny wine house characterizes the generous entrée, where it is possible to choose from more than 350 wines. And another thing to bear in mind: the gigantic, extensive school of fish on the ceiling. A 30m-long work of art, consisting of 2,600 silvery, filigree fish made of translucent mirror glass, and expertly setting the scene for the height of the room of 4.35m. In its color, the Deep Blue takes up the focus of the kitchen, namely fish fresh from the sea. Dazzling aquamarine color shades, matt deep-sea blue and shimmering accents dominate the dining room imparting elegance and sensuality to every nook and cranny.
