A holistically round thing is the extension of the administration building of Blickle Räder + Rollen GmbH und Co KG, which was implemented as a circular building. Also in the interior, the translation of the product repertoire of the rich in tradition family enterprise, which produces wheels and castors, can be recognized. We interpreted and implemented the theme with many variants and much creativity.
In the circular and generous reception foyer, we take it to the extreme: Here, not only window and door profiles are radially produced, but floor coverings and ceiling design have also been radially implemented. The inspiration for the suspended ceiling made of a computer-woven fiber composite by the company Fibr was a traditional spoke wheel of a vintage car. In addition, a unique “castor” wallpaper is applied in the Café Lounge: This is based on a photo from the production, which was done up and produced as wallpaper. The Blickle Corporate Green is also taken up as an important part of the design here. Everywhere in the interior this can be found in a subtle and accented way, for instance, at the bar in the café lounge, the furniture, and the entrance portal of the circular building. In this way, a connection is created not only between the in- and outside, but also between existing and new buildings.
On the upper floor, the company’s restaurant, S´RÄDLE, is located, which is decorated by the round filament ceiling elements and radially extends around the newly created inner courtyard. Here, too, the context of the wheel is played with: Thus, viewed from above, the courtyard ensemble reminds of a wheel hub.
