The presence of the location Basel with its characteristics, the River Rhine and its reputation as a location of sports competition was also integrated in the design and form a connection with the town. By means of the color blue, for instance, the Rhine is emulated, or represented by motives in the Petersburg Hanging, the patter of the roof of the Basel cathedral, however, reappears in the form of a rhombic pattern in various materials like the upholstery fabric of the bench seats. Thanks to various props and floor coverings, the sports-related flair is noticeable in the foyer and the meeting rooms on the conference floor on the 1st level. New is the Youth Corner in the Courtyard. This is not only intended for the young guests of the hotel; it can also be used by conference groups or sports teams for break-out meetings and team-building measures. For sportsmen and -women among the guests, there is a modernly equipped and extra-large gym with a lot of daylight here.
